Icons are not missing from FIFA 20’s features list. These are special cards that celebrate some of the world’s best footballers. They are amazing cards that can make a difference. Icons were introduced in the previous game and gained huge popularity. However, the community expressed some wishes about Icons in the new game and the development team listed. This year’s Icons will allow a higher level of flexibility for team setup. Some new features were added so players have more ways to get Icons.

Players also wanted to know more about Icon versions. This info will give players a much better understanding of the overall Icons system. Keep in mind that this info is about the game on PC, PlayStation 4, and XBox One. In case you haven’t heard by now, FIFA 20 on Nintendo Switch is a legacy edition that doesn’t have any of the new features. Icons have four versions: base, mid, prime, and moments.

The base version represents the player’s starting point or the beginning of his career. This usually has the lowest OVR but don’t dismiss it just yet as it’s a great card nevertheless. You will be able to get the base version until mid-December 2019. Some of the base versions will be present in FUT Draft. The mid version represents the players after they have defined their style and improved their performance. You will find mid versions in packs until mid-February 2020. Also, keep an eye on the associated FUT Draft for select mid cards. As the name suggests, the prime version celebrates the time in the player’s career when he was at his best. Keep an eye out for this version starting mid-December 2019. This version will be available throughout FIFA 20’s life cycle. Just like select base and mid cards, select prime cards will also be available during the FUT Draft. The moment card will reflect a certain time in the player’s career when he had a memorable performance. Starting in February 2020, this version will be found in packs.

Icon Swaps are a new feature that allows players to get select Icons with player tokens. Normally, Icons are found in packs or bought over the transfer market. Player tokens are acquired from game activities and exchanged for Icons during Icon Swap events. There will be three Icon Swap events. The first one has already started and lasts until December 2019.
