The new year begins for Elder Scrolls Online players with an awesome PvP event. The Midyear Mayhem is a 10 days PvP event during which all those who take part in Alliance wars, Imperial City war, and battlegrounds get more rewards than usual. PvP fans who want in on the action are invited to check out the crown store and to find the event ticket that will give them more info about the event. They will be required to go to Cyrodiil. This is easily done by accessing the Alliance War menu. Players that are new to this event will get the Midyear Mayhem quest. This is done once per character so those who already completed it in past editions, don’t have to repeat it. Once the quest is completed, players will get a scroll that gives them an XP buff for PvP kills. The buff also increases the number of acquired Alliance points. The buff works in battlegrounds and in the Alliance and Imperial City wars.
The event gives players the chance to complete seven achievements. The reward for completing all seven is a collectible item called Midyear Victor’s Laurel Wreath. The achievements have PvP objectives such as defeating enemies, winning battlegrounds, and capturing locations in the Imperial City and in Cyrodiil. Players get an extra reward when they engage in PvP and when they complete daily PvP quests. They will get boon boxes that can contain items such as transmute crystals, Motif pages, reagents, consumables, siege weapons, and housing items and Elder Scrolls Online Gold. Some PvP quests reward tickets that are used to get the Nascent Indrik mount or to upgrade it. Tickets can be exchanged for the feathers needed to get the mount or for the berries needed for the upgrade. The event is also a good time to gather materials as the harvesting nodes from Cyrodiil and the Imperial City have double drops. Players should also keep an eye for the special merchant that spawns in Cyrodiil. They can buy necklaces and rings from this NPC. The event ends on January 21.
