Nintendo Switch is still at a stage where many developers and companies are skeptical about putting lots of meat on the grill with projects for it. We could see it with Capcom at the time, and it seems that in the case of Electronic Arts, FIFA 18 will be a test of fire for which they have a lot of confidence.
The developer said recently that the results that accumulated FIFA 18 in the console of Nintendo would determine to a certain extent its approach to it in the future, but despite that, Andrei Lazarescu, producer at Electronic Arts, has not trembled the pulse saying that the new delivery of the coveted football saga will be a mandatory purchase on Nintendo Switch, at the height of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Mr. Lazarescu continued his speech without fear, and stated that he also believed that betting on FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch was going to be a “win for both sides” for both EA itself and Nintendo. Football is still a sport that brings together tens of millions of people every year to enjoy it, and the FIFA Switch version has been shown to date with more than acceptable performance.
Of all this interview, it is highlighted that in the time that they could test FIFA 18 for Nintendo Switch in this year’s PAX West, the title presented a remarkable performance, with highly comfortable controls and visual potential greater than expected for the one portable version, possibly given that the graphic engine used had been specially adapted for the console of Nintendo.
Ending with more data about the performance of FIFA 18 in Switch, it was confirmed at the time that this would present 60 FPS to 1080P when the console was in the TV mode, while in portable mode we would keep the 60FPS but reducing the resolution at 720P.
